FARA License Exams and License Classes
Important change for anyone seeking an amateur radio license:
In order to take a license exam, applicants must have an FCC Registration Number (FRN). Obtaining an FRN is done on-line via the FCC Univeral Licensing System (ULS) web site, as outlined below. If you already have an FRN, you do not need to register again.
For step by step directions to register for a new FRN, go to: https://apps.fcc.gov/cores/html/Register_New_FRN.htm
Please register for an FRN before coming to take a license exam. Please be sure to bring the FRN with you when you come for the exam.
FARA is fortunate to have a very active ARRL VE (Volunteer Examiner) program with a number of VE's. FARA provides open exam sessions on the 2nd Saturday of each month. No appointment is required. See the License Exams page for details and contact information.
FARA also offers license classes to provide people interested in acquiring a license or upgrading a license with the knowledge required to pass the license examination. Please see the License Classes page for class details and contact information.
