FARA Field Day

ARRL Field Day is the most popular on-the-air event held annually in the US and Canada. On the fourth weekend of June, more than 35,000 radio amateurs gather with their clubs, groups or simply with friends to operate from remote locations. FARA sets up a variety of equipment and antennas for each annual ARRL Field Day event.

FARA operators cover several bands and modes, scoring well among clubs of our size. A cook-out is held in conjunction with field day. We are fortunate to have access to the Barnstable County Fairgrounds parking lot, located at the intersection of Route 151 and Currier Road in Falmouth, which provides a very nice location for Field Day activities. The photo's below were taken during the 2014 field day.

2020 Field Day was limited to operations from home. We plan to be on the air from the Morris Pond School in 2021, using our new Emergency Communications Trailer.
