FARA Logo The FARA Repeater Network

The FARA repeater network is growing. It is also known as a very reliable repeater complex and our trustee Jim, WA1GPO, keeps them humming while he keeps adding more features in his "spare time". The repeaters in Falmouth command a very wide "rf" view. They are high over the surrounding terrain and have salt water vistas from the southwest to the northeast. When tropo conditions are hopping, it's not at all unusual to hear a QSO in full swing between a local, someone in New Brunswick or Novia Scotia, and somebody down on the Delmarva peninsula. That's tropo!

All repeaters in Falmouth are open for general use and all are invited to "drop in". Many vacationers on the Cape and Islands find the repeaters a very convenient place to get "local knowledge" in the form of directions, site seeing, events, etc. The myriad of functions on FARA 2m repeater are not available to the general ham public, they are for FARA members only. When you join FARA you'll get a crib sheet that explains all of the various features of the repeater and the touch tone codes needed to enable them.

Needless to say, all of this is financed by FARA members and its various fund raising activities. We certainly don't discourage donations, and were you to become a member of FARA, you would have the full featured use of FARA's machine. We have many members who are "part-timers" on the Cape and Islands. In addition to getting full feature access you also get to receive and read our marvelous monthly newsletter! What a bargain! If you feel the urge to simply make a donation to help FARA continue to provide the best repeater service you'll find anywhere, just make the check out to FARA and send it to:
