Introducing ... The FARA Forum Pages.

What's a forum? It's like a bulletin board for FARA members. You get there through this page which serves as an index for forums that we have started. It's for anyone who wants to use it, and it's a medium through which you can communicate directly with other hams on various topics and watch a chain of comments as they develop. Most of you have surely visited a bulletin board or discussion group web site, and this one should be no different except that we'd like to limit it to ham radio topics.

Before we overly complicate this, we're going to start the ball rolling with an initial section containing items FOR SALE/WANTED by members and another for soliciting help with Ham Radio problems. Just click on one of the links below and you will get to the appropriate Forum. Please don't list non-radio related items. Even at that, we'd like to limit this to amateur radio equipment, not collector's items like old AM radios. On the other hand, if you have one of those magnificent old Zenith Transoceanic short wave receivers, by all means list it.

The forum site is hosted by a company named Quick Topic, not our web site, so you will see some advertising because they don't charge us for using the forum site. To post messages you must sign up with Quick Topic. They will require a user ID from you (you might use your call sign), they will ask for your email address, and you will need to create a password for yourself. You can read messages posted but you will not be able to post messages until you have registered with Quick Topic. You will automatically be notified by email with the new messages posted to the Forum area only if you are registered. If you think you would like to start up a Forum on a new topic, please notify Saul, K1BI and we'll see if we can't get one started. We would hope if you want to start a new topic you might also be willing to be the administrator for your Forum.
