Field Day 2012
The Big Top Approach Again

Once again we used the "Big Top" approach except this year we had a somewhat smaller one without the fancy
windows and doors. Fortunately mother nature was kind to us and there was no rain to deal with although at one
point we thought a small gale was brewing. Once again our LMR 400 coax runs held us in good stead, even on
10 meters. VHF and UHF was put closer to the tent so that dealt with that problem nicely. Audio noise inside
the tent was still somewhat of a problem.

The County Fairground Site has been famous for monster sized bugs and mosquitoes after dark, but the screened
tents inside the Big Top again worked out just fine again.

The GOTA station with one of our members' grand harmonics listening in on some contacts before he gave it a try.
The Phone station with one of our members plugging away as usual, racking up contacts.
And, of course, the annual FARA Family picnic dinner, once again amply provided for with the kind assistance of the Boston Concession Group of Center Plate.
