ARRL VE Examinations

FARA conducts regular ARRL VE exam sessions on the second Saturday of every month. Examinations are held in Falmouth, MA Town Hall, in the FARA meeting room and convene at 9:00 AM. The FARA meeting room is the Selectman's meeting room on the lower level of the Town Hall, east end of the building. All levels of exams are given every month. Exam fee is now $15.00 (effective Jan 1, 2009), and sessions are open to anyone wishing to take an exam; you do not need to pre-schedule an exam. Exam sessions held in conjunction with FARA Courses will be announced as soon as the courses are scheduled.

Bring 2 forms of ID with you (a drivers license plus a credit card will suffice). Bring 2 photocopies of your licese if you have one and 2 photocopies of any CSCE earned during the last year to be used for credit against a license class upgrade. If you do not have a drivers license you will need some form of photo ID. A passport, a school ID, a seniors ID for airlines, etc. Photo ID's can usually be obtained at any shop that does passport photos.

Candidates ponder the exam questions during a FARA VE session.
The required three VE's grade a candidate's test and review their paperwork. That's all part of the VE requirements and FARA has rarely, if ever, had the ARRL or FCC question its submissions.
