Technician License Course

FARA has previously hosted "Tech-in-a-Weekend" classes to help individuals obtain their Technician amateur radio licenses in one weekend. However, these marathon-style courses weren't always the best format for the students or instructors. This year, FARA is trying a different style of Technician course, with three, four-hour classroom sessions spread over a two week period.

October 15, 8am-noon - Introduction to Amateur Radio
October 22, 8am-noon - Review of questions, Q & A
October 29, 8am-noon - Final review & VE session

Course fee is $50.  The course will include the HamTestOnline quiz package, an instruction manual, and - if the student passes the exam - a handheld transceiver to get them on the air!

There will also be examination sessions at the annual FARAfest ham radio flea market and at the Falmouth Town Hall on the two Saturdays following the course (November 5 and 12) , so anyone who needs more time to study will have it!

Location is currently TBD. Volunteer instructors and assistants are needed for each of the weekend sessions. You need not have any instructor experience, simply a knowledge of the material and a desire to help others obtain their ham radio license.
